Xylitol is a naturally-occurring 5-carbon polyol sweetener. It is found in fruits and vegetables, and is even produced by the human body itself. It can absorb heat when dissolved in water, with moisture absorbing function, and transient diarrhea can be induced when excessively taken. Insen Xylitol is the sweetest of all the polyols. It is as sweet as sucrose, has no after-taste and is safe for diabetics.

-Enhancement of immunity: Xylitol itself does not have antibacterial properties, but it can enhance the body's own natural immunity.

-Anti-adhesion: Xylitol has an anti-adhesion effect on streptococci (e.g. Streptococcus pneumoniae and Streptococcus mutans) and can inhibit the growth of these bacteria.

-Disease prevention: Based on its anti-adhesion properties, xylitol has been used to prevent otitis media, sinusitis and dental caries. However, regarding its effectiveness in preventing dental caries, it has been argued that xylitol itself does not directly prevent dental caries and that maintaining oral hygiene is the key.
