Kojic Acid Dipalmitate (Tretinoin Dipalmitate) is an important cosmetic ingredient:
Chemical Properties
Molecular Formula: C₃₈H₆₆O₆
Molecular Weight: 618.93
CAS No.: 79725-98-7
Appearance: white to off-white crystalline powder
Melting Point: 92-96°C
Solubility: soluble in mineral oils, esters and hot ethanol. Insoluble in water.
Source and Preparation
*Source: obtained by chemical modification of Kojic Acid, which is a fungal metabolite and can be produced by Aspergillus, Acetobacter and Penicillium.
*Preparation Purpose: To improve the light and heat stability of Tricarboxylic Acid by introducing palmitic acid groups and to enhance its fat solubility for easy application in cosmetics.

| Name | Kojic Acid Dipalmitate |

| Melting point: | 92-96ºC |
*Mechanism of action: As a competitive inhibitor of tyrosinase, Dipalmitate of Tretinoin can effectively inhibit the activity of the key enzyme in melanogenesis, thus reducing melanin deposition and lightening pigmentation, melasma and age spots.
* Advantage: Stronger inhibitory effect and higher stability compared to Tretinoin.
* By inhibiting tyrosinase activity, it reduces oxidative stress, protects the skin from free radical damage and slows down aging.
*As a fat-soluble ingredient, it is easily absorbed by the skin, softens the stratum corneum and enhances the skin barrier function.

*Mechanism of Action: By inhibiting tyrosinase activity, it blocks a key step in melanin production, reducing skin pigmentation.
*Effective Advantages: In vitro experiments have confirmed its whitening efficacy is superior to kojic acid; clinical data show an overall effective rate exceeding 90%, especially effective for dull skin and areas with dark spots.
*Synergistic Effect: When used in combination with glucosamine derivatives such as N-acetylglucosamine (NAG), the whitening effect is further enhanced.
*Photothermal Stability: Overcomes the photothermal sensitivity of kojic acid, and is not prone to discoloration or degradation during long-term storage.
*Molecular Structure Advantages: Contains no hydroxyl groups, avoiding hydrogen bonding with preservatives, sunscreens, and other ingredients in cosmetics, ensuring formula stability.
*Penetration: Its lipid-soluble properties make it easier for the skin to absorb, while also providing moisturizing effects.
*Recommended Dosage: 1%-3% of total cosmetic product volume.
*Suitable Products: Toners, lotions, creams, serums, sunscreens, and after-sun repair products.
*Functional Positioning: Primarily for whitening, fading dark spots, and evening skin tone; suitable for uneven skin tone, dullness, and pigmentation.
High efficiency: more effective than tretinoin in inhibiting melanin production, whitening effect is more significant.
Safety: no irritation, suitable for long-term use.
Stability: light and heat resistant, not easy to change color, extend product shelf life.
Compatibility: can be synergized with a variety of cosmetic ingredients to enhance the overall effect of the product.
Standard package: 25kg/Bag
Sample is also avaliable, provide customized package for different quantity.
