N-Isopropylhydroxylamine (IPHA) is a secondary alkyl hydroxylamine fine chemical. Its core characteristics are high selective reducing power, efficient free radical scavenging, and polymerization inhibition capabilities. It is widely used in polymer polymerization control, power plant water supply deoxygenation, pharmaceutical/pesticide synthesis, and dye manufacturing, serving as a green alternative to traditional highly toxic chemicals.

Chemical Properties


*Core Reactivity: Mild reducing agent, highly selectively involved in oxime, reductive amination, and dehalogenation reactions; strong free radical scavenger, capable of terminating polymerization chain growth.


*Stability: Stable at room temperature, protected from light, and sealed; easily discolors and absorbs moisture upon exposure to light; decomposes at high temperatures (≥159℃); reacts violently with strong oxidizing agents, acid anhydrides, and acyl chlorides.


*pH (15% aqueous solution): 10.6–11.2 (weakly alkaline).

1. Polymer and Rubber Industry (Core Applications)


* Polymerization Inhibitors/Short-Termination Agents: Polymerization control of styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), nitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR), and styrene-based monomers, preventing self-polymerization and end-polymerization, improving product uniformity and storage stability.

* Free Radical Scavengers: Anti-aging additives in coatings, adhesives, and plastics, inhibiting photo-oxidative degradation.


2. Power and Water Treatment


* High-Efficiency Oxygen Scavengers: Rapidly removes dissolved oxygen in thermal power plants, boiler feedwater, and industrial circulating water systems, reducing equipment corrosion; a replacement for traditional hydrazine (low toxicity), suitable for medium and low-pressure boilers.


3. Pharmaceutical and Pesticide Synthesis (High-End Intermediates)


* Pharmaceuticals: Molecular structure modification for cardiovascular drugs and antiviral drugs; key raw material for oxime drug synthesis.
