PBTC has been widely used in industry as a sequestering agent and calcium carbonate scale inhibitor for applications in industrial water treatment and industrial cleaning. It is usually used together with zinc salt, copolymer, organophosphine, imidazole and other Water Treatment Chemicals. When used alone, the dosage of 5-15mg/L is preferred.
The main application areas of PBTCA (2-phosphonobutane-1,2,4-tricarboxylic acid) 50% include:
1.Water treatment: PBTCA can be used as a water treatment agent for scale inhibition, chelating metal ions, corrosion inhibition and water quality adjustment. It can effectively prevent scale formation, improve the efficiency of water treatment systems and extend the service life of equipment.
2. Industrial cooling water system: PBTCA is used in industrial cooling water system to prevent scale formation and deposition of calcium, magnesium and silicon ions. It stabilises water quality, provides good heat transfer performance and effectively protects cooling equipment from corrosion and clogging.
3. Oil field water treatment: In the process of oil field extraction and production, PBTCA can be used as a water treatment agent to help purify the water quality and prevent scaling and corrosion of pipelines and equipment.
4. Metal surface treatment: PBTCA has good corrosion inhibition properties, and can be used as a metal surface treatment agent to protect metal surfaces from corrosion and extend the service life of metal products.
5. Detergent industry: PBTCA is used as chelating agent and metal cleaning agent in detergent industry.
6. Textile industry: PBTCA can be used as scale inhibitor and corrosion inhibitor for textile dyeing and finishing, helping to control metal ion deposition and scale formation in the dyeing process.
