1.Food flavors: Benzyl acetate has a unique fragrance and can be used to prepare various food flavors, such as candies, pastries, beverages, etc.
2.Cosmetic fragrance: Due to its aromatic properties, benzyl acetate is often used in cosmetics, such as perfumes, creams, lotions, etc., to add aroma to the products.
3.Soap fragrance: Benzyl acetate can be used as a soap flavoring agent to give soap a unique aroma.
It should be noted that according to the preliminary reference list of carcinogens published by the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer, benzyl acetate is in the list of Category 3 carcinogens. During use, relevant safety regulations should be followed.
Benzyl Acetate, also known as Benzyl Acetate and Benzyl Acetate, is an organic compound with a wide range of applications. Its main uses include the following aspects:
I. Flavors and fragrances
* Floral flavors: benzyl acetate is the main component of jasmine and other extracts, it is an indispensable spice in the blending of floral flavors such as Xiangxin and Yilan. It often in jasmine, gardenia, white orchid, hyacinth, jade hairpin, under the moon incense and narcissus and other floral flavor flavor plays the role of the main aroma agent or coordinator.
*Edible flavors: Benzyl acetate is stipulated in China GB 2760-1996 standard as temporarily allowed to use edible spices. It is mainly used to formulate various fruit flavor edible flavor, such as peach, apricot, raspberry, strawberry, apple, grape, plum, banana, cherry, pear, pineapple, papaya and so on. The recommended dosage in foods such as chewing gum, candy, baked goods, cold drinks and soft drinks varies according to the type of product, generally 760mg/kg in chewing gum, 34mg/kg in candy, 22mg/kg in baked goods, 14mg/kg in cold drinks, and 7.8mg/kg in soft drinks.
Ⅱ. Solvent
Benzyl acetate has good solubility properties, insoluble in water and glycerol, but miscible with alcohols, ethers, ketones and aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons. Therefore, it is used as a solvent for a variety of industrial materials, including shellac paint, alkyd resin, nitrocellulose, cellulose acetate, dyes, oils and printing inks.
Ⅲ. Other applications
Benzyl acetate is also used in other fields, such as adhesives, catalysts, auxiliaries, agrochemicals and feed additives. However, it should be noted that benzyl acetate was classified as a group 3 carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) of the World Health Organization on October 27, 2017, and although this does not mean that it has a direct carcinogenic effect on the human body, it still needs to pay attention to the safety and protection when it is used.
